School council take part in RSPB school bird watch.
Date: 29th Jan 2020 @ 8:22pm
Some children from the school council took part in the RSPB big garden birdwatch, the count will help the RSPB to analyse the bird population. Over the past 40 years data from citizen scientists like us have informed them that starlings have declined by 80% and wrens risen by 58%. Over the course of our watch the children spotted 1 robin, 3 magpies, a wood pigeon and a starling. We listened out for lots of different bird songs and used binoculars to look for them. The children also made bird feeders using pine cones, lard and bird seed to encourage more birds into our forest school. We enjoyed hot chocolate to warm us up! 🐦
