Tasting our home grown potatoes

The children enjoyed tasting their potatoes that they have grown today. In April we planted our potatoes in the vegetable box and we have been carefully watering them since. Last week the children were very excited to go and dig up the potatoes and see the how many had grown. The children came up with ideas for different things we could cook including jacket potatoes, mash and chips. They helped the adults to prepare the potatoes by washing, cutting and cooking them. Then they tasted the jacket potatoes and wedges. "They taste fantastic" said some of the children. What a great experience growing and eating our own produce.
