Nursery get arty!

Nursery had a fantastic trip to Whitworth Art gallery in Manchester. We took part in a drawing workshop making marks to represent the nature we could see in the textile artwork on display. The children really concentrated and listened to the artist and produced some beautiful and detailed artwork of leaves. We then went on to create our own beanstalk, using 3D shapes which we drew around. Following a short break we drew with natural materials in the Clore Learning Studio. The children explored leaves, stones, clay and sticks to create marks and sculptural forms, using their imagination to make unique artworks. We discussed the activities we enjoyed and why before we had our picnic lunch. The children behaved amazingly and we were very proud of them all.
